Like Daddy, Like Daughter

1. I did Go-Carts at the age of "10" or "11".
2. Carts were hand-made with
. . . bare tube frames and no body shells.
. . . crates for a seat and a bed-pillow for comfort
. . . wheels you could scrounge - usually not matching sizes or styles
. . . BIG Lawn Mower or Garden Tractor engines, some up to 12-hp
3. Races were held on oval dirt tracks in corn fields.
4. Had lots of fun on many weekends.
5. Unlike your daughter, we eased hot days with cases of Ice-Cold Stroh's.
6. AAH, the days with the Country Boys (and Farm Gals) !
7. UNTIL . . .
. . . reached around to grab ball cap that blew off my head.
. . . engine drive-chain caught my lower right arm.
. . . hand was pulled under the right rear tire.
. . . now have NO fingerprint on little finger and only a partial thumb print.

8. Lessons Learned:
. . . #1: Pain is not worth a generic hat.
. . . #2: Don't Drink-and-Drive (to this day, I still don't !!!)
Wow I'm surprised you didn't suffer more serious injuries! I've attached a video link of her first drive on a racetrack with her own car. Debut race May 25th.
