The "All of My Credits" series is supposed to be incredibly dry and raw, because it is a parody/satire (it's not really a satire, but whatever ) of both soap operas and VMK. It draws its humor from the extremely depressing storyline and its minimal comic relief. It's called dark humor (at least, it's much darker than the extremely light and fluffly place that VMK was) .
If you want another lalala bright and happy comedy musical, go check out Rodger and Hammerstein's Cinderella. Stay away from the remake with Jason Alexander!
Well, Cardinal, I've actually enjoyed the previous installments of "All my credits". I like the way you describe the series and I can totally understand why you would title it parody/satire. It definitely has elements of satire (coughAenguscough) On another note..have you studied ancient greek theater, because your description is astoundingly accurate and textbook-like.
I actually saw Mamma Mia! yesterday, which was quite enjoyable. I was in a different mood and the final parts made me a bit sad.
I'll keep in mind to watch Cinderella (not the Jason Alexander version! ).
