***Official July 2024 Thread***

We will be in Orlando 7/25-7/30. I have not been to WDW in about a decade - and never in July - so I am a bit terrified by all of the changes and the weather! We are staying at pop century, then at a nearby Sheraton (the name of which escapes me at the moment) for the. remainder of our trip. We have 2 day park hopper tickets, but I have NO IDEA what to prioritize. Lol. I like that the 2 days do not have to be consecutive so we can adjust for weather (in theory), but the changes to ADRs and this whole Genie thing have my head swimming.
You already know you will be hot. We have been twice in August and now going in July as well. We pack ponchos and plenty of water. We use a Brita refillable bottle. We go in the mornings (still just as hot but not as bad) and take breaks in AC for shows and other indoor rides.

I do not stay all day in the park. Just can't do it personally. So the days you have access to Pop, use the Skyliner to your advantage. Take a mid-day break for pool or other cool activity. We all love Epcot so the access to Skyliner is great. Just use your phone for the weather radar - if a thunderstorm is nearby, plan accordingly. If lightning is within so many miles, they will close the Skyliner. I'm not sure of the exact details.

You do not need to pay for Genie+ and still have a good time. It's up to you and how you plan. If you will be starting out later in the day, then it's probably worth it. If you will be there for opening, then I think you can make it work. We don't like spending more than we have to.

Good luck!

Very excited to join the July 2024 club!!! We'll be at Pop for six days, then switching to Swan for four. This is a very special trip that was purchased in 2016, shortly after my mum passed away. There was a small sum of inheritance, so I thought "what would mum have wanted to give us?" and put some away for my son's education (he was 10 at the time) and bought three 10-day parkhopper waterpark tickets - Canadian deal, no expiry (!!!).

Fast forward eight years, one pandemic, a few tragedies, DH has left us to move back to his home country, but water under the bridge and we're all getting together to celebrate DS' high school graduation and have a wonderful family vacation. So excited on so many levels! AND Tiana's Bayou adventure will be open!

Wishing you all an excellent adventure and a magical July in the Kingdom!

:welcome:to the thread! You're on the list!

In reading the reports from the last few years, July 4th was far less busy than expected - I'm hopeful this year will be the same. I'm surprised that there are still quite a few rooms available - we'll see how it goes! We visited in August of 2022, and I found the heat and crowds quite manageable with good planning (booked a sit-down lunch for 1 pm or planned a slow, cool ride in each park for around this time). My dilemma is what to do with all the fireworks! We haven't seen fantasmic for years, and then both Epcot and Magic Kingdom have July 4th shows (we'll hit the July 3rd for MK), so that leaves the "normal" fireworks for the other days, plus the drone show at Disney Springs... something has to give. That's a lot of late nights! Ah, if only all of life were filled with such challenging dilemmas :)

I think I’m already on the June thread but I’m there 25th June - 9th July so technically should be on this thread too 😀

Like the PP I’m really hoping July 4th will follow last year.. I’m planning MK on 3rd (my daughter has BBB booked that day) and Epcot on the 4th :)
